Each year, the Schroeder family opens their farm for a one-day event known as Jordan’s Pumpkins for a Cause. This event serves as their way of giving back to the community in recognition of the support they have received over the years. This year, the Schroeder family is proud to commemorate the 11th annual Pumpkins for a Cause.

On Saturday, September 27th, the community is invited to visit the farm to select a pumpkin, enjoy popcorn, and participate in hayrides. The event will be held at the Schroeder farm, located at 87 Meridan Lane, Vaughn, MT, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The Schroeder family only ever asks that you make a donation, if you are able, to the charity they choose for the year.

Each year, the Schroeder family chooses a charitable organization within the local area to support. This year, the selected charity is the Cutting Fences Foundation. All proceeds generated during the event will be directed to this foundation to aid in its mission of serving farmers, ranchers, and veterans living with disabilities or illnesses. The Schroeder family consistently collects donations, typically concluding their efforts around Thanksgiving each year.

Last year’s event raised a total of $15,708 for the Sun River Valley Food Bank, which was the designated charity for 2024. All funds raised during the event are donated directly to the selected charity. To date, with the support of the community, Jordan’s Pumpkins for a Cause has generated a total of $69,668.98.

This is a great way to enjoy the day and get that pumpkin for fall festivities. If you are a gardener and have extra pumpkins, what can be better than donating them to this great cause? Volunteers are also sought to assist with various tasks, including preparation, pumpkin cultivation, harvesting, set-up, and event assistance.

For more information, please contact Jordan’s Pumpkins on Facebook, and let them know you found them in The Great Falls Gazette.
