At approximately 2 a.m. on September 3rd, crews from Great Falls Fire Rescue were dispatched to respond to a fire that originated in the grass outside the property located at 1218 8th Avenue N.

Although Engine 1, stationed at Fire Station 1, was closest to the incident, it was unavailable due to a concurrent emergency medical call. Engine 3 departed from Fire Station 3 at 2:05 a.m. and arrived at the scene at 2:11 a.m., after responding from its location at 3325 Central Avenue.

Upon arrival, Engine 3 found a small grass fire that had spread to a detached garage and a vehicle. The crew had to extend a significant length of hose down the alleyway to access the fire effectively. Once they gained access, Engine 3 successfully extinguished the flames, limiting damage to the exterior of both the garage and the vehicle.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined; however, witnesses confirmed that it began in the grass adjacent to the garage. Fortunately, no individuals or pets were displaced as a result of this incident.
