The Library is excited to welcome Salish/Blackfeet Hip Hop artist Foreshadow for a free show in our Summer Library Music Series show on Tuesday, August 12 from 7 to 9 pm. The concert is free to attend in Library Park. Okii Eats will be on site to serve up Native and Korean fusion meals and dessert from The IceBox. Bring a chair and/or blanket and take in the free music!
Foreshadow is a prominent Salish and Blackfeet hip hop artist, audio engineer, and advocate for indigenous youth. Hailing from the Flathead Indian Reservation, Shadow has spent over a decade honing his craft, merging his deep cultural roots with the rhythms and beats of modern hip hop.
Foreshadow dropped his latest music video for the song Sunshine on social media on February 25 of this year. He also recently played at the Red Ants Pants Music Festival in White Sulphur Springs on the main stage on Saturday, July 26. He also produced music for the Bring Them Home documentary that the Great Falls Public Library showed in Great Falls in February.
This concert at the GFPL is made possible due to additional support from coal tax placed into Montana’s Cultural and Aesthetic Projects Trust Fund through the Montana Arts Council.
The Great Falls Public Library Summer Music Series as a whole would not be possible without the following incredible sponsors: The Great Falls Public Library Foundation, TDS Fiber, Scheels, Montana Credit Union and First Interstate Bank.
Below is the remaining schedule of bands set to perform at Library Park this summer. In the event of bad weather, the music will be moved indoors to the Cordingley Room.
August 19 — David and Diedre Casey (Folk/soul/Americana)
August 26 — The Strawberry Jam Band (Bluegrass)
