Cody Racine recently passed away at the age of 24, leaving behind a grieving family and community. He faced many challenges during his life, including the burden of living with severe schizophrenia for the past three years. He battled this relentless illness that ultimately overcame him in a tragic moment. The community remembers Cody fondly for his joyful spirit, love for sports, and the friendships he cherished.
The family is grateful for all the comforting posts and comments recently received. This support has reminded them of a time before their loved one struggled so hard. It brings them comfort to remember how loved Cody was by his community in Great Falls. They would like to thank you all for being his friend, laughing, skating, and playing basketball with him over the years. It means so much to them to read these memories and to hear the comforting words sent to them.
His family on both sides are Blackfeet, but due to circumstances outside his control, he was never able to be enrolled. Funeral costs are normally paid by the tribe but because he was not enrolled, his mother, Robyn “Bear” Pepion, will receive limited financial support for his funeral.
Robyn Pepion is a single mother with 3 other sons. During this difficult time, she is asking for financial assistance to cover the costs of this unexpected tragedy. If you can help by donating to this cause, please visit their GoFundMe page at https://fpc-go.com/bse and help lay Cody to rest.
