On Sunday, August 17th, at approximately 2:20 AM, 911 dispatchers received a report of a vehicle accident involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle.

According to reports, officers responded to the intersection of 9th St and Central Ave, where they discovered a motorcycle driver with serious injuries. Officers provided immediate assistance, including administering CPR, until emergency medical personnel from Great Falls Fire Rescue arrived to deliver advanced life care.

The motorcycle driver, a 21-year-old male, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The intersection remained closed for several hours while detectives from the Great Falls Police Department (GFPD), Montana Highway Patrol troopers, and deputies from the Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office documented the scene and collected evidence. Investigators suspect that speed may have been a contributing factor, and the incident remains under investigation. The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.

We will post updates in The Great Falls Gazette if more information becomes available.
