The Great Falls Animal Shelter is proud to announce its recognition as a No-Kill Shelter for the second consecutive year by Best Friends Animal Society. This prestigious designation reflects our commitment to maintaining a 90% or higher save rate for animals in our care, ensuring they find homes through adoption, return to owners, or placement in rescue or foster programs.
“Our success is made possible by the collective efforts of our community, including the unwavering dedication of the Great Falls Police Department’s Animal Control Officers,” said Laramie Smovir, Operations Manager. “Their work, alongside our shelter team and transfer partners across the state, ensures that animals in need receive the care and support they deserve.”
The Great Falls Animal Shelter is proud to work in partnership with animal control officers and transfer partners throughout Montana to provide life-saving care to animals who face abuse, neglect, and difficult circumstances. This recognition highlights the compassionate, collaborative efforts of everyone involved in our mission to improve the lives of animals in our care.
There are many simple ways individuals can contribute to our mission—whether by sharing our posts on social media, volunteering, donating to our fundraisers, or supporting our adoption events. Every action, no matter how small, makes a significant impact and helps us continue this important work.
“We are deeply grateful to our community for your continued support,” added Joseph Parchen, Community Relations Specialist. “Your involvement, whether through donations, volunteer hours, or spreading the word, is essential to our success and to saving more lives.”
Though this award carries the shelter’s name, it represents a true team effort. We are incredibly grateful to each and every individual and organization that has supported us along the way. This recognition belongs to all of you, and we thank you for your continued dedication to improving the lives of animals in need throughout our community.
