Rich Rossberg established Savage Motosports, originally known as Mr. Salvage, in 1987 with the goal of preserving vintage motorcycles and addressing the demand for used motorcycle parts. While working as a manager at a motorcycle shop, he began gathering junk bikes for parts, storing them, and selling the parts from a rented warehouse.

“People kept old bikes going,” Rich explained. “It’s kind of gotten away from that, but there was a huge need for used parts.”

Soon after, he decided to branch out on his own, building on what he had initially started as a side venture. His business flourished for a time, but as the market changed, Rich adapted his business model by introducing reputable brands, particularly CFMoto, which has seen considerable growth.

Savage Motosports moved to 4910 10th Ave. S. in Great Falls behind Honda of Great Falls three years ago. “If I go back to being 23 years old, this building had a motorcycle shop in it,” explained Rich. “I worked here as a kid. So that really kills me that I’m in the same building as one of my very first jobs.”

Despite the move, they’ve heard from many that people still don’t know where they are located. With that in mind, they decided to host a barbecue event in their parking lot on June 14th, from noon to 3 PM, to celebrate their ongoing presence in the community.

“I would love them to bring their CFMoto or anything,” Rich said. “They want to ride their road bike over because they did business with me 30 years ago, come on over.”

Bring your bike, ATV or your side-by-side down and enjoy an afternoon of fun with test rides, prizes, and a chance to share your support for Savage Motosports. For more information, please call (406) 761-3151 and let them know you found them in The Great Falls Gazette.
