
Playoff bound! The Great Falls Electric ended their second season in The Basketball League (TBL) enjoying a successful season winning 21 of their 24 games with two losses from the Wenatchee Bighorns and one against the Seattle Super Hawks.
Now, Great Falls is ready for the postseason winning four of their last five games. As of now, they are awaiting their first opponent, either the #2 Wenatchee (WA) Bighorns (15-9) or the Seattle Super Hawks (13-9). Both clubs will play a Play-In game on Tuesday, May 27th at 8:00PM (MST) at Wenatchee Valley College in Wenatchee, Washington to determine who will face the Electric in Game 1 of the best-of-three series starting on Wednesday, May 28th (see below for more information).
During the regular season, Great Falls went 5-2 against the Bighorns and 4-1 against the Super Hawks.
Jeremy Harris was one of four Great Falls Electric players to score over 20 points with his 31 points as the Great Falls Electric cruised to a 148-107 victory during Saturday’s TBL regular season finale against the Wenatchee (WA) Bighorns in Great Falls, Montana. Robert Upshaw gathered 29 points and Lyle Hexom and Antwaan Cushingberry each put in 21 points apiece.
Tavin Cummings scored 42 points on 18-for-32 shooting and connected on three of his three-point opportunities for the Bighorns.
TJ Maston Jr, Dexter Williams Jr., Antwaan Cushingberry, Lyle Hexom and Jeremy Harris accounted for the first ten points of the contest as both team scored ten points with 6:35 left in the first quarter. Tavin Cummings (4 points) and Chris Cromartie, Chane Behanan, and Nick Fleming all scored once. Great Falls then went on an 11-0 run (21-10) before Tavin Cummings scored for the Bighorns with under four minutes to go. Before the period concluded, the Electric held a 33-24 advantage.
After a basket by Wenatchee’s Chris Cromartie to begin the second quarter, Robert Upshaw, Dexter Williams Jr., TJ Maston and Lyle Hexom each contributed baskets as Great Falls went on a 13-0 run that lasted three minutes and the Electric leading by 20 points (46-26). Later in the quarter, Cromartie was whistled for his second technical foul and was ejected. Great Falls’ offense took advantage of turnovers by the Bighorns and went on multiple runs holding the visiting Washington team to twelve points during the last ten minutes. The Electric remained in control scoring 36 points to take a commanding 82-38 halftime lead.
Seven minutes into the third quarter, Great Falls registered their 100th point on a basket by Lyle Hexom. Great Falls lead was never in doubt leading by 45 points at that point of the third quarter. Wenatchee scored seven of the last ten points, but still trailed by 38 points (109-71).
Great Falls outscored Wenatchee, 39-36 over the final twelve minutes of action.
