
After handing the San Diego Sharks (16-5) their fourth loss of the season on Friday in Great Falls, the Great Falls Electric (25-3) were looking for their second consecutive weekend sweep after downing the Seattle (WA) Super Hawks in the TBL’s West Conference Division Finals last week.
Great Falls’ KD Moore and Tremont Robinson-White scored 26 and 25 points respectively, leading the Electric to their opening game win over the San Diego Sharks in the West Conference Finals, 118-102. Robert Upshaw led the team in rebounds with nine rebounds (game story). Meanwhile, Billy White (16 points) and Kameron Rooks (16 rebounds) led the San Diego Sharks in the setback.
The Great Falls Electric led after each of the first three quarters to send the visiting San Diego Sharks home for the season by winning 107-94 in Game 2 of the 2025 TBL West Conference Finals on Saturday evening at the University of Providence’s McLaughlin Center in their best-of-three series.
KD Moore was the only player on the Great Falls roster to score over 20 points in Saturday’s clinching victory. Great Falls’ leading scorer added 34 points along with eight assists. TJ Maston Jr. had a team-high of seven rebounds.
Kameron Rooks chipped in 21 points on 9-for-13 shooting and teammate Billy White chipped in 20 points to lead the Sharks in scoring. Rooks also led the team in rebounds with 14 and two blocks. Billy White and Justin Hawkins each added four assists apiece.
Great Falls advances to challenge the top team in the TBL this season, the Potawatomi Fire, based out of Shawnee, Oklahoma, in the TBL Semi-Finals starting on Thursday, June 12th in Great Falls, Montana for Game 1 of the best-of-three series starting at 7:00PM (MST). Potawatomi went 19-1 throughout the regular season in the Midwest Conference with one setback occurring on April 4th when the St. Louis Griffins picked up a 121-118 win. During the playoffs, the Fire showed why they have won the past two TBL championships when they defeated the Enid (OK) Outlaws in two straight contests in the TBL Central Division Finals. The Fire (now 23-1) also needed just two games to get by one of the newest members of the TBL, the Logansports (IN) Iron Horses in the Midwest Conference Finals.
Great Falls jumped out to a 10-4 advantage over the Sharks four minutes into the opening quarter. KD Moore, Antwaan Cushingberry, and Lyle Hexom each adeed baskets for the only TBL team in Montana. Kameron Rooks and Aaron Felix were responsible for the four points for San Diego during the run. After a timeout with Great Falls in the lead, 15-6, the Electric went on an 8-4 run capped off by Tremont Robinson-White’s three pointer. Great Falls stayed out in front, 23-10 with under five minutes remaining. The Electric outscored the Sharks, 31-19 before the start of the second quarter.
Dexter Williams Jr., layup with 10:37 to go before halftime increased the lead to 33-21, the largest lead of the stanza. Justin Hawkins layup capped off a 7-0 run by the Sharks with the visitors trailing 41-37. The home team managed to score 54 points (including 24 in the second) for the 54-45 lead at the break.
The Electric scored 11 points before the official third quarter timeout was called with Lyle Hexom, KD Moore, and Antwaan Cushingberry tacking on the points. The last six minutes saw Great Falls leading eight points (79-71).
Great Falls’ offense in the fourth quarter took over and picked up the 107-94 victory.
Great Falls improved to 4-0 in the playoffs and are four wins away from becoming national champions.
