The 4th Annual Back 2 School Drive is now open for registration and donations, welcoming support for the upcoming school year. Registration is available until July 31st, with the event taking place on Friday, August 15th, from 11 AM to 1 PM for pre-registered attendees, and from 1 PM to 3 PM for walk-ins.

This program, which has a long-standing history with the Great Falls Rescue Mission, showcases the collaboration of multiple agencies coming together for a significant community event.

The primary goal of the Back 2 School Drive is to provide essential resources that support children’s success in the coming school year and beyond. While the drive may not fulfill every item on school supply lists, it aims to ease the financial burden on families to ensure that lack of resources does not obstruct children’s education and future success.

In 2024, the drive saw an impressive turnout, with 1,902 people attending, 1,475 backpacks distributed to students in Cascade County, and food served to 1,617 individuals. Additionally, 160 children benefited from free haircuts, while Alluvion provided 86 immunizations and 55 sports physicals, highlighting the event’s comprehensive support for the community.

For more information and to register, please stop by Alliance for Youth, Opportunities Inc, or Great Falls Rescue Mission and let them know you heard about the Back 2 School Blast in The Great Falls Gazette.
