Dave Mathews and his wife Debra established Spark of Life, a non-profit organization, in 2009. The mission of Spark of Life is to assist individuals experiencing loss in order to ‘Live Forward.’ Participants are encouraged to discover how to embrace life beyond loss and to find renewed meaning and purpose.

The Spark of Life Organization will be having a free grief recovery workshop for the entire community at the Great Falls Church of Christ located at 1300 6th St NW. This workshop is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th, from 8 am to 12:30 pm. Dave will also be speaking during church services on Sunday, April 13th.

This free workshop is intended for all individuals who are grieving any type of loss, including non-death losses such as divorce or a child struggling with addiction. Furthermore, it is designed for those who wish to support friends and family members facing grief, as well as for individuals seeking to prepare themselves for future losses.

Since The Spark of Life Organization began, over 12,000 participants have benefited from more than 90 grief workshops and 136 retreats. They also provide online grief courses, grief coaching, articles, and videos that are intended to inspire, equip, and empower individuals to pursue life with a sense of hope.
