Clint Stone and his wife Tasha, in collaboration with “My Husband and His Stupid Truck,” have established a new second hand store in Conrad.
In keeping with their unique business names, this new secondhand store will be called “My Wife and Her Crazy Ideas.” This small and quaint store is filled with a variety of treasures, with 99% of the inventory being an accumulation of their greatest finds over the past three years.
As they work to declutter their storage units, they often encounter the challenge of items continually accumulating. The store features a diverse range of offerings, including antiques, collectibles, and vintage items, such as vintage televisions, stereos, and bicycles. While some items fall into the category of thrift merchandise, they aim to curate a more focused antique and vintage shop.
Clint and his family do a lot of traveling for their business, ranging from Great Falls all the way up north to Sweet Grass, leading to the accumulation of more items. Their storage units often overflow, with items stacking up in the carport. The process of meeting customers at the storage unit can be cumbersome, as it requires them to remove numerous items to access specific products.
Currently, the store features a sectional sofa set, with three or four additional full living room sets awaiting display. They also offer a wide array of household items, including pots, pans, silverware, and sports equipment, as well as inexpensive board games. Antique items are particularly valuable due to the time and financial investment required for restoration.
At My Wife and Her Crazy Ideas, you can find something for everyone. Pricing ranges from higher priced antiques, to competitively priced items often priced lower than you may find them on eBay and other online marketplaces. Some items are even available for only a dollar and some at no cost including several toys for children and a barrel of yard tools.
The business plans to host a soft opening for their Facebook followers, which will include an early bird special, followed by a grand opening scheduled for April 28th. The store is located at 6 4th St SW in Conrad, directly across the alley from the courthouse.
They continuously seek unique items for their inventory and are willing to collect donation items at no charge, provided that the items align with the store’s offerings. They are also open to purchasing certain items.
