At approximately 0630 hours today, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) received a report from a crisis line stating that an individual had shot someone, planted bombs at Bigfork Schools, and intended to commit further violence.
Deputies immediately responded in coordination with Bigfork School personnel, implementing protocols to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the community while actively investigating the threat.
Initial findings from FCSO detectives indicate that the threat originated from an out-of-state IP address, and the investigation is ongoing. Patrol deputies, FCSO K9 teams, School Resource Officers, and Bigfork School personnel are currently following bomb threat protocols out of an abundance of caution.
Bigfork School officials will provide updates regarding school closures and re-openings as information becomes available.
We appreciate the cooperation and patience of the community as we work to ensure everyone’s safety.
