On March 28th, the Great Falls Police Department (GFPD) initiated a pursuit after receiving a tip about the whereabouts of Bradley Boulduc, who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Stadium Sports Bar.
According to a news release, the pursuit began on the south side of Great Falls, extended into the county, and then returned to Upper River Road and Overlook Drive. Despite Mr. Boulduc’s attempts to evade capture by ramming patrol vehicles, officers effectively used non-lethal tactics, including the deployment of a Taser, to ensure his safe custody.
At approximately 5:15 PM on March 28th, officers acted on information about the suspect’s location related to the armed robbery investigation initiated earlier that week. The investigation had established probable cause to charge Mr. Boulduc with robbery, as outlined under Montana Code Annotated (MCA) 45-5-401.
When officers attempted to detain the suspect on foot near the intersection of 10th Avenue South and 9th Street South, they were unable to make the arrest due to safety concerns for bystanders. The suspect managed to reach a nearby vehicle before intervention by the officers.
According to the news release, a traffic stop was initiated; however, the suspect did not comply, resulting in a vehicle pursuit that traveled south of Great Falls, then westward, before returning north within the city limits. Near the intersection of Overlook Drive and Upper River Road, pursuing officers successfully used their patrol vehicles to immobilize the suspect’s vehicle, concluding the pursuit.
The suspect did not follow the lawful commands from the officers during efforts to apprehend him, which required the use of additional less-lethal tools to ensure compliance. These methods proved successful, and the suspect was ultimately taken into custody at the scene.
Mr. Boulduc was evaluated by medical professionals on the scene. In accordance with standard protocols following such incidents, law enforcement officers transported him to a local hospital to assess his fitness for incarceration. One officer from the GFPD sustained minor injuries during the incident and received treatment at the same medical facility.
The GFPD stated that further information would not be disclosed until the suspect has made his initial appearance in the Cascade County District Court.
