
The proactive and decisive actions of Cascade County Detention Officers have successfully prevented multiple suicide attempts earlier this week.
From March 14th to March 18th, according to a press release, officers at the Cascade County Detention Center intervened in several suicide attempts as well as a fire incident, highlighting their attentiveness and the effectiveness of the GUARDIAN RFID System.
As reported in the press release, on March 14th, officers responded to two separate suicide attempts, promptly removing materials used for tying and providing life-saving assistance. Both individuals were subsequently placed on suicide watch.
On March 16th, officers intervened to save another inmate who had attempted suicide by administering first aid and relocating the individual for further observation.
On March 18th, officers prevented a fourth suicide attempt and facilitated the inmate’s transfer to a hospital for further care. Later that evening, staff discovered an attempted fire in a cell and effectively contained the situation.
Sheriff Jesse Slaughter commended the detention officers and medical personnel for their exemplary responses to these critical incidents. The swift and professional actions of the detention officers and medical staff were vital in preventing further harm and preserving lives.
