Join GFPS teachers and students as they celebrate Youth Art Month with their annual showcase of student work on Friday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 5:30 pm on the first and second floors of the Great Falls Public Library.
The exhibit will feature artwork from students in all of the GFPS schools. We will have the official proclamation ceremony at 5 pm and honor the student artists and teachers at that time. Light refreshments will be served! Artwork will be on display until April 29.
The GFPS students on Feb. 20 also held an art showing/sale in the Darkhorse below the Celtic Cowboy. The GFPS Arts Department is supervised by Dusty Molyneaux.
The Art & Creative Materials Institute (ACMI) created Children’s Art Month in 1961 as an event to emphasize the value to children from participating in visual art education. In 1969 the celebration expanded to include secondary school students, and the Children’s Art Month event officially became known as Youth Art Month.
