Art Up Montana, an art gallery located in the Times Square building, opened its doors in mid-December. Established by artist Corrina Lakui, the gallery aims to provide a space for artists and handcrafters who often struggle to find venues for their work during the winter months when events like farmers’ markets come to a halt. Corrina’s vision was to create a safe and community-oriented environment where these artists could showcase their creations and connect with individuals who appreciate and wish to purchase their work.
Currently, Art Up Montana features the works of twenty-five artists, with room for more. The gallery hosts various events, including a sketchbook club, a Lego club, and separate book clubs for both adults and youth, while also highlighting the work of Montana artists and handcrafters. They offer a range of classes and workshops, including an upcoming still-life workshop. Additionally, Art Up Montana facilitates birthday parties and corporate events and plans to introduce game nights and trivia nights in the future. The gallery is currently collaborating with OverHere Consulting, also located in Times Square, to create an art club dedicated to the blind community.
Throughout the year, Art Up Montana organizes vendor events, such as the Spirit Fair in March and another event in June, along with various art exhibitions. The gallery is set to host the First Friday Art Walk event scheduled for February 7th from 6 pm – 9 pm.
Art Up Montana typically opens at 9:00 AM, with closing times varying between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM depending on scheduled activities.
