The Youth Services department at the Great Falls Public Library holds a “Dragon Appreciation Day” on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 11 to 12:30 pm in the Cordingley Room.

Kids, teens and their families are welcome to join in as we share literature and mythology and participate in a variety of crafts such as fire-breathing dragon cups for little ones, to dragon bobble heads for big kids, to the challenging optical illusion “Gathering 4 Gardner” Thinky The Dragon for teens and adults, and shrinky-dink dragons for everyone!

With the fire-breathing dragon cups, when a child blows through the hole in the bottom of the cup, the streamers taped to the front of the cup blow around to create a fire breathing effect! Thinky the Dragon is a 3D Optical illusion where kids cut him out and follow the instructions to bring him to life. Once constructed, you close one eye and watch as Thinky watches you. When you move around you see his eyes follow yours, as well.

Adults must have children with them to attend the event on Saturday and it is free to attend!
