The Board of Cascade County Commissioners expresses disappointment over Rimrock Valley Preserve’s refusal to allow access to the dump site located in the Belt/Armington area.

The Board of County Commissioners has attempted to engage Rimrock Valley Preserve through multiple channels, including direct negotiations, to find a mutually beneficial agreement. The Board of County Commissioners has a responsibility to the public to keep solid waste costs and expenses reasonable and manageable. During the lease negotiations, Rimrock Valley Preserve was demanding Cascade County triple the lease payment. The County, understandably, did not immediately accept this proposal. Since that point, the County has been reviewing all potential options regarding the Belt/Armington site, in order to keep waste management costs reasonable for county residents.

The Board of County Commissioners is exploring all available options to mitigate this community issue for the residents of Cascade County. The following solid waste sites remain open and operational for Cascade County residents on the days and times specified:

Cascade, 2055 Simms-Cascade Road, Sun River, MT 59483.
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Fort Shaw, 65 Dr Russell Road, Fort Shaw, MT 59443
