My Neighbor in Need provides an anonymous resource for asking for and providing help between neighbors within our community, and My Student in Need provides an anonymous resource for teachers to ask for help for their students from individuals in our community.

My Neighbor in Need began operation on March 20, 2012 and My Student in Need opened its doors on September 27, 2013. Currently, My Neighbor in Need has fulfilled 18,248 needs and My Student in Need has fulfilled 4,478 needs. Both organizations were founded by Great Falls resident, Dave Snuggs.

“For almost 13 years My Neighbor in Need and My Student in Need have been there to provide HOPE and HELP to those in need. The need for our services has never stopped, not even during Covid-19. However, the past two years we have seen a large uptick in need requests and although we were able to fulfill 88.87% of those need requests, in order to leave a legacy of good we needed to update our business model and merge with Saint Vincent de Paul,” said Dave Snuggs, Founder and Executive Director. “We know that together we are more powerful than if we work alone. Our relationship with Saint Vincent de Paul has been wonderful! For over six years Saint Vincent de Paul has been a ‘Good Deed Doer Partner’ by fulfilling need requests for furniture, appliances, household items, and clothing. Now that we are merging, I believe that even more need requests will be fulfilled,” said Snuggs.

“We have an agreement in principal and are working on a final agreement which I expect to be effective in the next 30 days, so the merger will be completed by the end of the year. All of the services that are currently provided by My Neighbor in Need and My Student in Need including the Free Pet Food Pantry will continue to operate just as they have since they came online. Donations made to fulfill a need request or for general donations will continue to go directly to the selected organization whether it be My Neighbor in Need or My Student in Need,” said Snuggs.
