The Great Falls Baseball Club, Inc., has officially announced the sale of the Great Falls Voyagers team to a local business group, Enbar, Inc.
Baseball has been a fixture at the same location in Great Falls since the late 1800s. The current stadium has hosted professional baseball since its construction in 1948. Over the years, the team has undergone various affiliations and name changes, including the Giants, Dodgers, and White Sox, however the presence of baseball at this venue has remained enduring. This tradition serves as a summer cornerstone that connects generations within the community.
In evaluating the decision to sell the Great Falls Baseball Club, the current ownership prioritized the selection of local proprietors who would commit to maintaining the team’s operations in Great Falls, rather than relocating the franchise to another city or state.
“Not only is baseball near and dear to our hearts, but the stadium has been an important community gathering space for generations,” Voyagers president Scott Reasoner stated in a press release. “The Voyagers play 48 home games a summer, and the stadium hosts another 50 + Legion baseball games and other events. There are thousands of people attending our amazing facility who are also staying, shopping, and eating at businesses in our community. Seeing a community institution such as The Voyagers leave our community simply was not an option, and we knew we had to step up and make sure professional baseball was around for the next 100 years.”
A key partner in Enbar, Inc.’s expansion has been the Great Falls Development Alliance. “We are excited to provide assistance to support local ownership of the team and continuation of this important quality of life asset,” stated Brett Doney, Great Falls Development Alliance in the press release. “Improving quality of life is a key piece of our mission. A top challenge of our employers is recruiting talent, and we think the facility plays a key role in retaining and attracting talent in the Great Falls Region.”
The newly established ownership group, Enbar, Inc., plans to implement a series of improvements to the stadium over the next few years. Enhancements will include the installation of new netting, the addition of a third-base deck, and the creation of a children’s play zone. The new owners express a commitment to preserving and expanding the community relationships that the Voyagers have cultivated over many years.
“The Voyagers take great pride in our community non-profit connections,” Scott Reasoner said in the release. “We host about 40 different organizations each summer for fundraising events and donate $50,000 to local groups. That is something we want to keep alive and continue to grow.”
Enbar, Inc. will maintain ticket prices at their current levels for the 2025 season and intends to introduce innovative food selections at concession stands, including local favorite Big Dipper Ice Cream.
Established in 2017 by six local entrepreneurs, Enbar, Inc. began with the opening of Enbar Craft Cocktail Lounge in downtown Great Falls. Over the past seven years, the company has further invested in the community through the development of establishments such as The Block Bar & Grill, Sidequest Arcade Bar, and Big Dipper Ice Cream. Additionally, they have collaborated with various community partners to organize events such as the Downtown Summer Jam and 4th of July Hootenanny concerts.
