On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 5:17 PM, the 911 Dispatch received a report concerning shots fired in the 200 block of 8th Street North. The first officer arrived at the scene within two minutes. In response, a total of 14 additional officers from the GFPD, including several detectives and personnel from Montana State Probation and Parole, were dispatched to the incident.

Witnesses provided comprehensive descriptions of multiple individuals who fled the scene, as well as details regarding the vehicle in which they departed. Utilizing this information, officers successfully located the vehicle and took its occupants into custody within 30 minutes of the initial 911 call.

The preliminary investigation conducted by officers revealed that, while a firearm had been discharged, there were no injuries reported. Furthermore, it was determined that the incident was not random, all individuals involved were acquainted with one another.

Three juvenile males were arrested. One individual was charged with Criminal Endangerment and Assault with a Weapon, both of which are classified as felonies. The remaining two individuals faced charges of Accountability to Criminal Endangerment and Accountability to Assault with a Weapon, both felonies.

In a press release, the Great Falls Police expressed their appreciation and cooperation as officers worked to ensure the safety of all individuals involved in this incident.
