Breaking: Gazette to Change Publication Day, and Begin Sunday Home Deliveries – Starting October 31st

Thursday, October 31st, 2024, the Great Falls Gazette will change it’s weekdays for publication. Thursday will be the new publication date for the Friday paper, and Tuesday will be the day that Monday will move to. The reason for these massive (believe me, there has been a LOT of leg work to get here!) changes is to allow us to bring out a Sunday paper.

The Daily Combo, consisting of Tuesday and Thursday papers will still be available, and for the same price as before. The Sunday paper will be available from most current paper dealers for and introductory $1.50 per copy, as well as being available as a subscription item, for $6 per month, or $70 per year. The Full week deal, combining all three papers will be $14 per month or $140 per year. Existing subscribers can be updated to the full week without any payment, your existing subscription will simply end sooner.

Because of these changes, our deadlines will be changing, Tuesday’s deadline for stories is Noon Monday, Thursday is Noon Wednesday, and Sunday is Friday at 5pm. This allows us time to wrap up our layouts and start the process of printing.

Sunday papers can not be signed up for postal mail at this time, the cost to send the larger Sunday paper (32+ pages each week) plus some reliability issues means that, at least initially, there will not be a mail option. At this time the Gazette Publisher is pretty confident that mail won’t be an option for the large paper before the end of the year.

Recently the Gazette has expanded delivery service to Sun Prairie, Vaughn, Bootlegger, Sun River, Ft, Shaw, and Augusta. As the paper gains delivery drivers, they will be expanding further and reaching out to other communities with the ability to have retail sales as well.
