On Saturday, September 28th, the Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office issued a news release regarding a high-speed pursuit that occurred the previous night in the vicinity of the south side of Great Falls and the Gibson Flats area. This pursuit was initiated in response to a 911 call reporting a potential kidnapping.

A total of 12 law enforcement officers from the CCSO and the GFPD were involved in the search for the suspect’s vehicle, described as a 1990s model dark-colored Chevy Truck. A Deputy located the suspect vehicle on 20th Street South and the suspect fled and the pursuit began.

Because the complaint was categorized as a forcible felony, deputies proceeded with the pursuit. Although the suspect vehicle was lost during the pursuit, subsequent investigation led to its location at a residence. The suspected driver was subsequently apprehended and arrested on felony charges.

This ongoing matter remains under investigation, with additional charges pending. The Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office emphasizes its adherence to a stringent pursuit protocol, ensuring that vehicle pursuits are exclusively undertaken when circumstances warrant, with paramount consideration for public safety. It is affirmed that there is no threat to public safety.
