Okay, after much discussion and some policy changes, we will once again be accepting political ads. However, there will be some limits.

All political advertising will be in the center pages of the paper, except the back page. The back page will be available on a rotational basis for FULL PAGE ADS only, with a double fee and no discounts. If you don’t know what all that means, the person placing the advertisement on the back page may not do it two issues in a row if others are waiting their turn. If no one else would like to utilize the back page, only then may an advertiser use that placement twice in a row. All ads must CLEARLY say that they are political and who has funded them, as well as to have a border of at least 2 points around them.

Ads will be prepaid, with no exceptions. Production work will require a deposit of at least the estimated production price PLUS at least three insertion fees before any work begins. We’re sad that we have to take these steps, but of the 10 ads ordered this spring, only 3 people paid their bills. No business can operate in that manner.
