Alvin “Al” Henry Richard was born April 24, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Eleanor Smallarz and Clemens Richard joining older brother Timothy. Enlisting in the Air Force in 1965 took him away from Michigan indefinitely and off to Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. It was there he met his first wife, Helen Jenette of Iowa, and they were married in 1969. Together they had two children, Eric Richard and A.J. Richard. Al was later married to Marlene Lund of Great Falls from 1975-1985 and their union produced daughters Tamara (Tami) Seibel and Kimberly (Kim) Matthews. Once discharged from the military, Al held various jobs, generally customer service oriented, including selling real estate at Realty World, Bison Realty, and Century 21. He also was a long time employee of Kmart in the appliance department, then the photo department in WalMart when it opened in Great Falls.

In 1999 he moved to Punta Gorda, Florida to help care for his aging father. Never missing the MT winters, he thoroughly enjoyed taking up hobbies such as kayaking, swimming, and volunteering for both local veteran programs and his church.

Al passed August 18, 2024 in Florida. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Timothy Richard, sister-in-law Nancy Richard, and daughter Kim. He leaves behind his three remaining children, four grandchildren, dear friend Ron Kline, and many in his Florida community. Cremation has taken place; no services are planned.
