Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is organizing two events on Sept. 14th at Tower Rock and Giant Springs State Parks.
At Giant Springs State Park, a public concert will be held, sponsored by Pepsi and Source Giant Springs, starring the talented father-daughter duo Rob and Halladay Quist. The concert starts at 3 p.m., and entry is free, with a small request for attendees to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Great Falls Community Food Bank. Make sure to bring your own seating, such as chairs or blankets, along with your favorite snacks and drinks.
At Tower Rock State Park, there will be a weed pull event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support the regrowth of native plants after a recent small fire. Invasive spotted knapweed threatens the area, and volunteers are crucial to help remove these weeds and protect the natural beauty of the park. While some gloves and tools are available, it’s recommended that volunteers bring their own gloves, plenty of water, a hat, sturdy boots, and sunscreen. Remember to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants due to the presence of snakes in the area.
