Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art (The Square) is hosting an open call for coloring book drawings for the annual Arts on Fire Community Coloring Book. Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to submit their drawings by August 17th.
The theme of the book this year is Art of the Seasons. “What is your favorite season? What is your favorite seasonal hobby or activity? Do you have a memory related to one of the four seasons?” There is no entry fee, and The Square will include all submitted drawings in the book (artwork that does not fit the family-friendly spirit of the project may be declined at the museum’s discretion). A generous anonymous sponsor will provide printing of these books for the community.
All submitted artwork must be 8.5 x 8.5 inches square. Any artwork submitted that does not fit those dimensions or shape will be cropped or stretched to fit the size requirement. All submitted artwork must be plain black line-art (no shading). Artists can submit paper copies via our Gift Shop, or a PDF application form can be found at www.the-square.org/events/aof13 under the “Arts on Fire Hub” page and can be emailed at high resolution (200-300 dpi preferred) to info@the-square.org. Artists must include their full name, contact information (including parent/guardian name if applicable), and title of their artwork.
All the drawings will be compiled into a coloring book and given away for free at the 13th Annual Arts on Fire Festival, September 14th at Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art from 10am – 4pm.
The Square hosts Arts on Fire every year in early September. This is a free arts festival with family-friendly art activities, artist demonstrations, an artist alley vendor market, food trucks, musical and dance performances, art gallery exhibition tours, shopping in the gift shop, a pottery sale, and free root beer floats (while supplies last).
