The critically acclaimed Native Hip Hop/Dancing superstar Supaman performs at Library Park on July 23rd from 7 to 9 pm as part of the Great Falls Public Library’s Summer Music Series.

As a member of the Apsaalooke Nation, Supaman makes his home on Apsáalooke lands in Montana on the Crow Reservation, southeast of Billings. Christian Takes Gun Parrish, also known as Supaman, has, “dedicated his life to empowering and spreading a message of hope, pride and resilience through his original art form,” according to his website.

He has been the recipient of the 2017 MTV VMA award for “Best Fight Against the System.” He is also a Nammy, aka Native American Music Award, winner, a North American Indigenous Image Award winner, and 7-time Tunney Award winner.

One person who saw a recent Supaman show said, “‘I’ve never seen an artist captivate an audience of all ages! Everyone was engaged in his performance and he had everything, culture, flute playing, comedy, looping, stunning visuals and of course hip hop. The way he delivered his messages through his performance was a true art!”

For Tuesday’s performance, be sure to bring chairs and/or a blanket to sit on in the park. We will have Papo’s Mexican Food Truck and The Icebox will both be ready to start serving people at 6:30 pm. Please do not bring alcohol to the event, as it is not allowed on City of Great Falls property.

The next performances at the library after Supaman are Little Jane and the Pistol Whips on August 6, The Lucky Valentines on August 13, John Floridis on August 20 and Sally Jo and Friends Blue Grass on August 27th.

Our sponsors this year are TDS Fiber, the Great Falls Public Library Foundation, Scheels, Montana Credit Union, Bravera Bank and First Interstate Bank. In the event of bad weather, the performances will take place in the Cordingley Room.
