This week’s Electric City Boxing Club Coach of the Week is Quentin Stump Jr.

Quentin Stump Jr. also know as “Coach Fish” became a coach to be a positive role model for the kids and because he enjoys the sport.

Coach Fishs’ dad was a boxer and trained for years along with many people he knew from Electric City Boxing Club. Coach says that his dad is goofy with a great sense of humor. His dad goes everywhere with them. His mom was a strong woman who raised many foster kids, she is in a better place now.

His wife “Coach Susie” and “Coach Fish” have 6 kids-Ryen, Victoria, Chevy, Madeline, Karerra and Tristian. He has 2 grand kids McKoy and Madden. Fish says that one of the things he likes about coaching is the kids, being there for the kids, his kids, all the kids. Watching them progress and grow, the complaining to the excitement when they win, watching the kids have fun and bond.

Coach Fish has been a registered coach for almost 2 years and a volunteer for 3 years, maybe more. Fish says that his family enjoys other sports the kids participate in. They like to hunt, fish, camp, hang out with the family, go to the stock car races, pow-wows and the fair. If Coach could give some advice to the young boxer it would be “to never give up on yourself, keep learning, If it was easy everyone would do it. Coach Fish would like to “thank” Bob, Todd, Billy, Jamie St. Marks and Jamie Johnson.
