The Basketball League (TBL) has been announcing their end-of-the-season awards recently. A Great Falls Electric player was named to the Second Team in the TBL’s West Conference for his performance on the court during the 2024 season.

Lyle Hexom, who calls Omaha, Nebraska home, helped lead the Great Falls Electric to ten wins in their inaugural season. The 6’8” forward averaged 20.8 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game under the direction of Head Coach Johnny Clark.

In his second game of the season, he had a team-high of 20 rebounds on the road against the Salem (OR) Capitals on March 16th. Great Falls lost 113-100. Lyle’s highest point total of the season came in a May 10th showdown with the Wenatchee (WA) Bighorns when he answered with 38 points in 45 minutes of playing time. The Electric came up seven points short (110-103 loss).

Lyle was impressed on how well run the first-year organization was in Great Falls. He wanted to thank the fans for showing up for all the home games and our team fed off their enthusiasm with their loud cheering.

Hexom played collegiately at the NAIA level with Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska. He also spent time playing overseas in Britain and Sweden.

The Nebraska hoop star also has prior experience in the TBL playing for the Beaumont (TX) Panthers in 2022 where he averaged 22.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. He was the Defensive Player of the Year, an All-Star participant and made the TBL First Team All-Central Conference squad.

As a member of the Potawatomi (Shawnee, Oklahoma) Fire in 2023, he averaged 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest. Hexom helped the Fire win the 2023 TBL Championship where they defeated the St. Louis (MO) Griffins in two games in their best-of-three series.

“Lyle Hexom is one of the more skilled players in all of the TBL and had a great season for the Electric,” said Great Falls Electric Head Coach Johnny Clark. “Professionalism, accountability, and work ethic are things that come to mind with Lyle. He is a nightmare matchup for every opponent and is very deserving of  his Second Team All-Conference Selection.”

Hexom was joined by a pair of Salem Capital standouts Preston Whitfield and Joseph Billinger, Jr., Tyshon Pickett of the Vancouver Volcanoes and Ty Glover from the Los Angeles Ignite on the Second Team All-Conference Team in the West .
