This week’s Electric City Boxing Club Fighter of the Week is Jordan Gardipee.

Jordan Gardipee is 15 and goes to Great Falls High and the Montana State Deaf and Blind School.

Jordan’s boxing record is 11 wins and 14 losses. Jordan started coming down to the boxing club when he was 6 years old with his older brothers who were also boxers. Jordan says the hardest thing about boxing is either the running or the mat workouts. He says that the best thing about boxing is hanging out with his friends and meeting new people, also the excitement of winning.

Boxing has taught Jordan that no matter the size, big or small , or even their fight record, you can always surprise yourself in the ring. The harder you train, the better you will be. It’s not always about winning.

Jordan says he is proud of himself for the courage to get in the ring. He lives with his mom and 9 siblings-but he has 7 sisters and 9 brothers total. Jordan says that his Uncle Sonny Gardipee, who has passed away, is someone who he looks up to. He was a strong, funny and tough man even when he was ill. In the end he never gave up. “He was very proud of me, he liked the fact that I was a boxer.“
