As part of Give Great Falls, the Library will co-host a free Estate Planning 101 course in the Cordingley Room from 3 to 5 pm on May 1. It’s also hosted with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, the Montana Community Foundation and the Great Falls Area Community Foundation.
The event will be led by presenters Katy Lovell, Legal Services Developer; Annalisa Bell, Grant Coordinator; Susan Gecho Gobbs, Esq., Contract Attorney for Legal Services Developer Program; and Jim Bennett, Montana Community Foundation Gift and Estate Planning Director.
Topics covered include: Importance of Estate Planning, Pitfalls of Inadequate Estate Planning, Common Estate Planning Documents, Resources for Estate Planning, and Charitable Considerations in Estate Planning.
The Legal Services Developer Program operates under the Aging Services Bureau within the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. They will be back at the Library on July 24-26 to do an estate planning clinic to help set folks up with the proper paperwork.
