The Emilie Center, a conference under The St Martin De Porres Mission of Great Falls, gives free clothing and other items to those in need. They typically work from a voucher system which many people from schools, churches, hospitals, Opportunities Inc., and other places can fill out if they know someone in need. If someone sees a need and doesn’t have a voucher, they can contact the center. If you don’t have a voucher, don’t worry, these amazing people will always do their best to help you out.

“Everything is donated to us,” explained Pam Noble. “We ask for clothing, household goods, and furniture in good condition. Then we go through it and make sure that it’s in good and working condition. As people come in, they choose what they want. We try to keep clothing on a three-month rotation, household goods on a six-month rotation and furniture on a year rotation.”

The Emilie Center is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 am to 3 pm. Anybody with a voucher can come in at that time as well as anyone who would like to drop off donations. At this time the biggest need is pots and pans, so if you have some lying around that you don’t need anymore, this is the best way to put them to use. Donations may also be sent to PO Box 141, Great Falls, MT 59403.

A couple of times a year the Emilie Center holds a “garage sale” to clear out the older items, jewelry, and vintage items, and help raise money for bills and the much-needed new roof for the building. The bids they have at this time to replace the dilapidated roof ranges from $40,000 and upward. The Emilie Center will be having its next sale on Friday, April 26th, and Saturday, April 27th from 8 am to 2 pm at the Center located at 1920 10th Ave S.
