Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art (The Square) has opened registration for its Spring Quarter art classes. The Square’s Education Department teaches a wide variety of classes and workshops for youth from pre-K through 12th Grade. There are many classes and workshops available to adults as well.

Art classes are taught by both local artists and by visiting artists from Montana and beyond.

New this quarter is a homeschool art history class led by Margi Schindele. Students will study Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh through color and paint mixing, composition, and mimicry, working additionally at home if desired. Students will create finished paintings in acrylic on canvas.

Homeschool art classes are offered in the late mornings to help homeschool parents enhance their curriculums. Other homeschool classes include Youth Drawing & Painting, Adult & Child Pottery, and Youth Pottery. The Square will also host an art class for Pre-K students called All Things Messy where children can draw, paint, fold, glue, tear, squish, print, or weave into exciting and unique works of art each week.

Youth who are not homeschooled can also take most of the same classes in pottery and drawing and painting in the late afternoons.

The Square offers scholarships to make art classes more accessible to those in need via the Roberta Cooney Memorial Fund providing annual funding for quarterly scholarships. Requests are reviewed for full or partial funding assistance regularly. Applications are available via online form, digital email requests, or in person at the museum Gift Shop.

A full schedule of art classes and registration links can be found by visiting www.the-square.org/education.
