The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of Cascade County, Montana is inviting interested individuals to join their upcoming CERT class on April 20th. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a team that serves the community in times of emergency. As a business owner, you can help keep your business safe from disasters. You can significantly impact your family, neighborhood, and community by getting involved and being prepared. The class will take place at Disaster & Emergency Service, located at 521 1st Avenue Northwest, on April 20th, from 8 am to 5 pm. The class can only accommodate 15-17 people, so make sure to sign up soon.
The training will cover the fundamentals of the CERT organization, including disaster medical operations, disaster psychology, fire safety, utility controls, and light search and rescue. This free course is a hybrid, which means that the initial training will be conducted online to allow more people to participate. The online training will cover the first two days of the traditional three-day CERT basic course. Participants can complete it at their own pace. The third day, which is a Saturday, will be the hands-on portion of the training.
