Sun Prairie Fire / Vaughn Fire & Rescue responded to a vehicle accident on Vaughn South Frontage Road on Tuesday, February 20th.
When crews arrived on the scene, they found a car on the side of the road with the front end fully engulfed in flames.
Traffic was backed up while firefighters extinguished the fire. The car was vacant and no one was injured.
“The car fire was the car owner was driving and the clutch was already overheating. So, he stopped, pulled over and he got a ride home,” explained Joey Zahara with Vaughn Fire & Rescue VFD. “The call went smoothly.”
The Sheriff’s Office alerted the owner that their car was on fire on the side of the road.
“Responders have a deep passion for serving people,” explained Joey. “The Volunteer Fire Department is a good home for them because we can really hone that in and provide a good service to the community. These are family men, blue-collar people, and business owners. These guys put aside their business part-time, put aside their family to come and serve the community.”
Special thanks to the firefighters for the quick response.
