Lori Arps is an experienced clothing alteration specialist with over 25 years of experience. She used to provide alteration services to customers while working at a dry-cleaning business for several years. However, she later decided to switch careers and started her own business called Alterations by Lori six years ago. She realized the need for more alteration services in Great Falls, which led her to start her own business. Currently, she is in the process of relocating to a new address at 819 9th Street South.

“I’m good at doing alterations,” explained Lori. “I find alterations are very rewarding because when somebody buys a dress whether it’s a wedding dress, a formal, or just an everyday dress or a coat and it just doesn’t fit right, you get to make it fit how it’s supposed to. The smile they get is always great.”

Lori especially likes altering wedding gowns although they did seem frightening at first. “They can be so pretty, and there are so many different styles,” explained Lori. “A lot of them have lace appliques that you have to take off before you take in or let out or do whatever adjustment. And then it’s like putting a puzzle back together when you have to put the lace back on. It’s just fun.”

Lori offers various types of alterations including hemming, zipper replacements, letting things out, and taking them in. She also provides military and first responder discounts on uniform work and has experience in altering costumes for Miss Linda’s dance studio. Lori is excited to announce that she will be moving to a new, larger location at 819 9th St. S by February 20th. For more information about her services, feel free to contact Lori at (406) 868-6462 and mention that you found her through The Great Falls Gazette.
