Great Falls, Montana – The Great Falls Figure Skating Club participated in the 39th Annual Big Sky State Games on Saturday, January 13th in Billings. “The Centennial Ice Arena where we competed this past weekend was the coldest rink we had been to, and it was the coldest weekend in the books for sure,” stated Stephanie Kazior. “Rimrock Skating Club, who hosted the games, did a great job given the crazy weather. Our skaters toughed it out and competed like champions.”

Ten skaters including three adults competed from The Great Falls Figure Skating Club, four of them competed for the first time.

The Great Falls skaters competed in a few different categories including free skate (program to music with required elements), compulsories (set elements to no music), interpretive (skaters hear the music 3 times and must make their own program), and one duet. The team received 13 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals.

Congratulations to the skaters for the amazing performances, and special thanks to all the family and friends for their support as the team continues to prepare for the next challenge, The Capital City Challenge in Helena in February.
