Augusta, Mont – This week’s artist is Beth Morrow, who was born in Choteau, raised in Augusta, and now resides in Fairfield.
Beth creates cards of all types and has been doing so since around 1987. “I just wanted to create something I use,” she explained. “I use recycled paper and recycled cards. Anything that’s been abandoned, battered, bruised, thrown away. I like to just create something new out of something that is no longer serving its original purpose rather than throwing it away.”
Beth buys card stock and envelopes, but all other items are recycled papers, bits of metal, old jewelry, wallpaper, fabric, and more. “I had an old piano music book that used,” she explained. “I made some beautiful cards with the music.”

She enjoys finding several treasures at thrift stores, anything that will lie flat. Each card is handmade with different things and has a personal touch. “I’ll just sit and cut paper and whatever I’m working on and cut while I’m watching TV,” she replied. “I have tubs and tubs of cuts, die cuts I just keep them and sort through them, and get ideas.”

You can find her cards and the works of many other artists at Latigo & Lace. While you are there, enjoy a great cup of coffee and let them know you found them in The Great Falls Gazette.
