Augusta, Mont – There have been 48 families signed up for the Augusta food drive so far and the committee has been working hard to pull everything together. “We’re getting low on toys right now,” explained Nancy. “We don’t give each child just one toy, they get books and toys and whatever we can fill their box with. We also went to get some socks and gloves and they were gone,” explained Nancy. “We need socks for women and men, and men’s T-shirts.”
Anyone in the Augusta area who needs anything including, toys, food, and clothing, there are no questions asked, these people take care of everyone that they can. They also have access to the Salvation Army, and the Catholic Charities, so if you need a refrigerator or a washer and dryer, they will do their best to get that for you. “This is a tough year for many people, we’re hoping we get enough stuff for everybody.”
If you are in need or know someone in need, let these people know any sizes and toys and whatever is requested, and they will do their best to take care of it. Whether it’s a man working outside who needs boots or someone who needs blankets, they do their best to include everyone. This year they are also trying to deliver to those with difficulties getting to town.
“We’re very busy and need volunteers to help,” explained Nancy. “Even if it’s just for an hour a day. It’s a lot of wrapping.”
The Augusta Food Bank will be in the basement of the museum building from 10 am to 5 pm and will continue until December 13th.
