On September 8th at 4 pm, Great Falls Police were notified by staff from Great Falls Public Schools, that a North Middle School student had allegedly threatened another student.
Out of an abundance of caution, several officers rushed to the school. Upon investigation, the police found a 13-year-old student had texted threats of violence, involving a gun, to one particular student.
The suspect was arrested at their home by 4:25 pm and remanded to the Cascade County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Intimidation. The victim was safe, and no physical violence occurred.
GFPD encourages parents to speak to their kids about how serious even texting threats can be and encouraging them to always tell them when someone is threatening violence.
