Adonna King is originally from Indiana. She was active duty in the Air Force for 21 years in air transportation. “While I was active, I took over doing the birthdays in our office,” explained Adonna. “Everyone would just say go to the commissary and buy a cake and have them write happy birthday on it. I thought that was boring. It’s your birthday, what do you want? And it just kind of grew from there.”

Adonna became licensed by the county this past January and opened A King’s Kravings at Mise en Place Kitchens, on January 24th. She recently moved to 1008 20th St S. and reopened her bakery on September 13th where she specializes in made-from-scratch baked goods.

This little bakery is run by just one person. Adonna does it all from baking to serving guests, so if it takes her a minute to get to you, just remember that fresh baked goods take a little time, but they are well worth the wait.

You can find a variety of goodies at the bakery, such as home-style cheesecake, cookies, coffee cake, brownies, cobblers, eclairs, cream puffs, sweet breads, and more. “I make whatever I feel like making, and whatever people are asking for. It’s the comfort stuff that we all grew up with,” explained Adonna.

A King’s Kravings is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and open Wednesday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:00, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 to 4:00. For more information, you can find A King’s Kravings on Facebook or call (406) 616-2360, and don’t forget to mention you found her in the Great Falls Gazette.
