The first plane pull was held in Missoula in 2019. This year will be the first year it will be held in Great Falls. This competition will feature teams of six to determine which team can pull a plane 20 feet in the shortest amount of time. The plane this year will be a Challenger 600. Each team must raise at least $500 in order to participate.
“We have had a few teams sign up already,” explained Brandi Monks. “Each team will be given an athlete to be part of their team, and we have trophies for first, second, and third places. So far Lithia Dodge has sponsored a team, donating $1000. And we had an anonymous donation of $5000.”
There will also be a youth competition for children 12 and under, which will involve children pulling a law enforcement patrol car. The kids will need to raise $50 per team to participate.
This event will be hosted by Holman Aviation, at 1940 Airport Ct in Great Falls, Saturday, September 23rd. Registration will open at 1:45 pm with the event beginning at 3:00 pm.
Admission is free, so come enjoy a fun-filled day with food trucks and great entertainment.
100% of the Montana Law Enforcement Torch Run funds will stay in Montana to support Montana athletes. 60% of funds raised will stay in the local communities and 40% will go to the Special Olympics Montana state office to help with the cost of State games, training, recruitment, accreditation and so much more.
