Cascade County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Animal Cruelty Case

Photo credit Cascade County Sheriff’s Office On August 27th, 2025, at approximately 1:35 p.m., deputies with the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 1323 Eisenhower Avenue in Great Falls for a report of “massive animal cruelty.” Deputies responded to the residence to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, Tiffany Kay Bourdeau permitted deputies to take photographs and enter the residence. Inside, deputies observed nearly 30 dogs—some loose, some in kennels. Kennels were stacked on top of each other and contaminated with feces and urine. Deputies also noted the floor was covered in fecal matter. A deceased dog was located on the living room floor, covered with a blanket. Given the conditions and discovery of the deceased animal, deputies sought and obtained a search warrant. On August 27th, at approximately 6:01 p.m., the warrant was executed. Deputies seized 37 living dogs, two lizards, and one hedgehog. Nearly all the dogs were found covered in feces. The following day, on August 28th, deputies executed an amended search warrant after receiving additional information. During this search, deputies seized eight cats, three lizards, one snake, and three deceased dogs buried on the property. A veterinarian was called to the scene to assess conditions. The veterinarian described the animals’ environment as “disgusting,” “uninhabitable,” and “inhumane,” stating it was “absolutely cruel to have these animals in small kennels covered in feces.” Based on the investigation, deputies arrested Tiffany Kay Bourdeau for: • MCA 45-8-217, Aggravated Animal Cruelty, a felony (first offense), for purposely and knowingly confining animals in a cruel manner and inflicting cruelty on a collection of 10 or more animals. Bourdeau was taken into full custody to ensure court appearance, to protect the animals, and to stop further criminal activity. This case remains under investigation. At this time, the rescued animals are receiving care through the Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center and partner agencies.
