Owner Melissa Stokes, who has been passionate about the bridal industry since 2004, brings over 20 years of experience to her shop. Before launching her own store, Melissa worked at one bridal shop for 18 years and another for a year and a half. The idea of starting her own business was sparked after the loss of her mother in 2023. "Mom always carried a 2 dollar bill folded up in her wallet for good luck," explained Melissa. "I took it out and stuck it in my wallet." A significant moment came when a customer asked for change for a parking meter and handed Melissa a two-dollar bill, which she interpreted as a sign from her mother to pursue her dream. Just three months later, she opened Silhouette Bridal. The studio offers a uniquely personalized experience for brides, providing private appointments that include exclusive use of the shop and dedicated styling support. Committed to making bridal dress shopping stress-free, Melissa aims to ensure that each bride feels comfortable and supported throughout the process. Additionally, she has introduced a private line of dresses named after her mother, Charlotte, further honoring her memory in her business.
