Obituary of David Lindseth

David B. Lindseth, a devoted father, veteran, and lifelong Montanan, passed away on October 11, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 10, 1949, to Albert "Bully" O. Lindseth and Agnes R. Mutch, and his journey through life touched the hearts of many. Dave's story is one of dedication and unwavering commitment. He graduated from Choteau High School in 1968, a milestone that marked the beginning of his lifelong love affair with Montana. He met Norma in Green River, Utah, and they would marry in 1972 in Choteau. They built a life and family, being married for 28 years. Dave remarried Roselee Winchel, they shared joy and companionship into his later years. Over the years, Dave and his family called many places in Montana home, including Fort Benton, Craig, Augusta, Box Elder, Sun Prairie, and Brady. Although David's family lived in many places, Choteau was always home. Dave was a man of the land, a farmer and rancher through and through. His connection to the earth was evident in the way he cared for the land and the livestock. He was a true steward of the countryside and took pride in his work. Dave's passion for mechanics led him to Wyoming Tech, where he honed his skills in diesel mechanics. These skills would help him in his 25 years at the Montana Department of Transportation. His service extended beyond the farm and the highways of Montana, as he proudly served in the United States Army and the Montana National Guard for 30 years, displaying the same dedication to his country as he did to his land. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of duty and camaraderie that would be a cornerstone of his life. In addition to his agricultural and mechanical pursuits, Dave was a dedicated member of various organizations. He was a strong advocate for veterans and was an active participant in the Vets for Vets Stand Down Program, a testament to his commitment to the well-being of his fellow veterans. His memberships in the American Legion and VFW reflected his unwavering support for those who had served alongside him. Dave was a man of diverse interests. He had a deep appreciation for livestock, auctioneering, classic cars and trucks, guns, horse racing, youth sports, garage sales and was a collector of "fine" antiques. David was preceded in death by his parents, Albert "Bully" and Agnes Lindseth; sister Clara Bell Lindseth; brother, Patrick Lindseth, sisters, Maeve Lindseth and Andrea Lindseth Dave leaves behind son, Jarrod (Laura) Lindseth; daughter, Kim Lindseth; granddaughters, Ava Lindseth, Harpar Lindseth, Michelle Winchell, Monique Standing Rock and Neferti Standing Rock; and brother, Albert O. Lindseth. A legacy of generosity and helping those in need. He will be remembered for his steadfastness, his sense of duty, and his welcoming smile. Dave's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. A celebration of Dave's life will be held on October 28th at 11:00 am in Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau.
