The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) recently celebrated the graduation of 17 new troopers at the 83rd Montana Highway Patrol Advanced Academy ceremony. Lieutenant Colonel Kyle Hayter and Bowen Greenwood, Clerk of the Montana Supreme Court, addressed the graduates before their swearing-in and badge-pinning ceremony.
“I’m proud to have these men and women officially join the ranks of the Montana Highway Patrol. Montanans can trust the new troopers are well-trained and prepared to keep their communities safe,” Attorney General Knudsen said. “It’s my honor to welcome them to the Montana Department of Justice.”
“These 17 troopers have demonstrated incredible commitment, professionalism, and perseverance throughout their training. They are well prepared to meet the challenges of serving and protecting Montana communities and keeping our roadways safe. I am proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make throughout their careers within the Montana Highway Patrol,” stated MHP Colonel Kurt Sager.
The troopers completed 12 weeks of training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy followed by an additional 14 weeks at the MHP Advanced Academy in Boulder. After hundreds of hours of hard work and dedication, these troopers are now prepared to protect and serve the citizens of Montana.
