The Great Falls Electric professional basketball team has announced the signing of a former prep and collegiate player from North Carolina for the upcoming 2026 The Basketball League (TBL) season.
The Great Falls Electric will be getting ready for their third season in The Basketball League in March 2026.
Emmanuel (Manny) Chizuba Izunabor, originally from Lagos, Nigeria, moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, in his teen years. Izunabor, a 6’8” forward, attended Fayetteville Academy, where he was a member of the Eagle 2018 state championship hoops team.
After high school, Manny attended and played basketball for the High Point (NC) University Panthers (2019-2023). HPU is an NCAA Division I team competing in the Big South Conference. He was recognized on both the All-American and All-Defensive teams in each of his four years with the team. The newest Electric player graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business at the North Carolina college.
In 2024, he played a single season with the North Carolina Central University Eagles basketball team in Durham, North Carolina, where he was named to the All-Defensive squad. The Eagles are members of the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, he began his professional career with the Mesa Monsoons, a semi-professional team competing in the Maximum Basketball League (MBL) in Mesa, Arizona.
“We are very excited to sign Manny to our basketball team,” said Electric team owner and general manager Jim Keough. “He is a hard worker and a very talented basketball player and should be one of the top players in the league.”
Izunabor joins Deon Lyle as the newest recruit for the 2025 TBL’s Great Falls Electric team.
The 2025 Great Falls Electric basketball team finished with a 25-5 record and made it to the TBL Semifinals before losing in two games of their best-of-three series to the Potawatomi Fire. They defeated the Seattle SuperHawks in the Division Finals and the San Diego Sharks in the Conference Finals.
