It’s time to travel! Join us in the Cordingley Room at the Great Falls Public Library for another season of Armchair Traveler. On the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, we will explore a different country, a different mode of travel, and even get tips and tricks to make your future trips successful. We will also have a snack that is reminiscent of every place in which we travel!

The Olson Family’s trip to Slovenia
Whitney Olson and Doug Little discuss their beekeeping tour through Slovenia.Whitney Olson and Doug Little are lifetime Great Falls residents and novice beekeepers. They were inspired to visit Slovenia by local author, Amy Grisak. Amy wrote about beekeeping tours in Slovenia years ago and it became a bucket-list destination for Whitney and Doug.
Come see the difference between Slovenian and American hives up close (without the bees!). Learn about apitherapy as it’s practiced in Slovenia. Travel the gorgeous countryside through photos and videos. We’ll also taste Slovenian forest honey and flower honey and compare it to local Great Falls honey.

October 2:

Erica LaTray’s travels in Albania

Erica and her 21 year-old son went on a journey to Albania in the summer of 2024. Erica will showcase some pictures showing the stark changes in the country from a harsh form of communism under Hoxha to a free society with tons of budding entrepreneurs and new development. She will share the different regions they visited, from the Tirana city life to the “Albanian Riviera” on the Mediterranean, and its close proximity to Corfum Greecem as well as Gjirokastër and the ancient Butrint, and lots of photos of the food!

November 6:

Seth Lutter teaches the do’s and don’ts of international travel
Learn from an experienced traveler about the do’s and don’ts of international travel, as well as tips and tricks to make your trip the best it can be. Seth has traveled the world and is excited to share a little bit about those travels with the folks of Great Falls.

What happens when you let the universe book your flight? with Cortney and Kyle Reedy

Cortney didn’t dream about spontaneous travel; she lived it. One ordinary day, she strolled into the Salt Lake City airport, walked up to the ticket counter, and said, “Surprise me.” No plan. No destination. Just vibes.

With limited time and money but unlimited curiosity, Cortney boarded the first flight out because why not let fate be your travel agent? Join Cortney as she recounts her unscripted adventure.

Larry Phillips’ travels through Thailand
In April, we will be traveling to Thailand, a country that is known for its unique culture which blends Buddhist traditions, royal heritage, and local customs.

May 7:

Duff Family Travels through Galapagos Islands
Who doesn’t want to adventure off to the Galapagos Islands? Iguanas, blue-footed boobies, and so much more to see and experience while you are there. Join us as the Duff Family shares their adventure with us!

June 4:

Wendy Lee – The open sea, Cruises!!
Learn the best ways to shop around and find the cruise that fits your style.
